Nightvision and flash photography may be waning somewhat as new ideas on spirit photography are coming to light. The 'old way' of doing things were through the use of nightvision which views the (invisible) infrared spectrum of light, and flash photography which would view the visible spectrum of light; however many are now focusing on the importance of the UV spectrum of light. The idea here is that if ghosts can appear in infrared and visible light then why wouldn't they be able to be viewed in UV. Ghost hunting research suggests that there is at least something going on at the UV range. As you see below, the the visible light spectrum is located on a small sliver in the whole spectrum of light and is surrounded by larger UV slice on the left and much wider IR on the right.

Many new cameras are beginning to hit the market for ghost hunting that have the ability to view the UV spectrum, and even full light spectrum(UV, IR, visible). These cameras could be the beginning of a larger wave as ghost hunters focus on the use of UV photography in their investigations.
